My Faves of 2012
2013! Mmmm…I love the fresh, unblemished feeling that comes with a new year!
As I love filling out questionnaires (seriously…need a census filled out? I’m your gal) I jumped on this prompt Kris Kross style.
Favourite 2012 Movie: Ted. Seth McFarland humour for J. Marky-Mar…er I mean …Mark Wahlberg for me. Compromise is the soul of marriage.
Favourite Album: “Chief” – Eric Church. OK – so it was released in 2011 but I didn’t get it until this year. Music wise, this year was a fun one for me. I let go of my security blanket of the same 20 CDs I’ve been listening to since the 90s and opened myself up to new music. Country music – a genre I swore off as my parents inundated us with it growing up – has really struck a chord with me. (Pardon the atrocious pun S.V.P.)
Favourite Song: “Closer” – Tegan and Sara. I’m not sure which I’m loving more – the catchy hook or the kick-ass intrumental towards the end of the song.
Favourite Tweeter: Celeb Tweeter @MindyKaling. This girl is just too cool for school. I could write an entire blog post about how much I adore her but I’m afraid it would come off a little too “Kathy Bates in Misery”-esque.
Non-celeb tweeter @MrsARob. I’m still a Twit-neophite but she’s showing me the ropes. And she retweets my stuff, which is the cyber-equivalent of agreeing to eat lunch beside me.
Favourite Blog: OK. Confession time. I am totally immersed in the MckMama saga. It is none of my business and totally snarky but MckMama Truths – which documents the unraveling of MckMama’s Blog Empire – is my guiltiest interwebs pleasure.
Favourite Instagramer: @joshduggar. His pics are meh. But the lively debates, between fundamentalist Christians and the people who love to egg them on, beside every pic are fun. (Bonus points if you count every time he posts a pic of sweet tea or a screen cap of the Arkansas weather report).
Favourite Moment of 2012: Paddy’s first steps. Definitely.
Favourite Conference: “Hot Mom’s Club” meeting over at L.L.’s hot tub. (Wait…that’s what was meant by conference…right?)
Favourite Viral Video: Tommy Jordan. Some people thought he went too far. I’m not one of those people. I love parents who call their kids out on shit. I wonder if Hannah is still grounded…….?
